A Bio. By, Kelsea Carter

I am a multi-disciplinary artist based on the Central Coast of California. My work is mainly produced from my obsession with studying the nature of reality, the nature of lifeforce energy, how this plane of existence actually works, and why there are so many different experiences that can all simultaneously prove themselves to be true. I am working on a long-term project called Holy Human, which explores how humans are indeed a holy, total, and complete self sustaining ecosystem. You can follow this project and notes on X, instagram and youtube.

My jewelry comes from a place of playfulness in experiencing the fancy romance of our tactile, visceral, dense and beautiful humanity. Jewelry has always played a strong role in my life, being more than an accessory, but a sort of guide, protector, companion, and friend. It is a huge part of life for many people (and part of many rituals) and I love to contribute and join in with others’ lives in this way.

I have a vast experimental nature which has also motivated me to create jewelry as wearable objects with alternative materials such as seed beads, paper clay, and fibers. I also enjoy clay building, painting, and photography. I received a degree in art from the University of Oregon in 2014.
